Haircuts, Pizza, and Community: An Afternoon with Sunshine Acres

Last Saturday afternoon, Mission Barbers in Gilbert, AZ closed regular appointments to make space for something more important—a visit from the children and staff of Sunshine Acres, a local children’s home that supports families who choose to place their kids in a nurturing, structured environment.

We shared pizza, played card and board games, and provided free haircuts of their choice to every child who came in. Many of these kids have been coming to our shop for years, building relationships with the barbers they trust and feel comfortable with.

This wasn’t a one-time event—it's part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the community that’s supported us. We’re proud to serve Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, and the greater East Valley with more than just clean fades and good conversation. For us, it’s about connection, consistency, and care—both inside the shop and beyond it.
